1350: The whole point of a comic is to be popular. Wait, not the whole point, but a major point. People don't post things online for them to be ignored. They post them online to be seen. And the best way of doing that? Involve the people looking at it. Plus, the jokes and references are what the people looking at xkcd find funny. If people find it funny, then it's funny. That is, believe it or not, how you test for something being funny. Overall, I am highly disappointed with your fatuous analysis of this great xkcd comic.
